Monday Memo

Last Month of the School Year!

Shrek the Musical:  Dear parents… I can’t tell you how excited I am for the Shrek Jr. the Musical this year!  Many of you in the community may not know what special people we have working for us behind the scenes.  Dani LeCompte started with a vision last year of what could be possible, and now the entire LeCompte family, as well as many other parent and staff volunteers came together to make these performances possible that build leadership and social skills these students wouldn’t develop in any other way.   This is not your typical production.   Please come and support our students.  Let’s pack the house!  The evening performances will be for parents, students, and relatives.  The assemblies will be for the students to preview the performances on the 4th and 5th

MAY 3rd Assemblies 9:30 – 11:30am.

MAY 4th & 5th Evening Performances

6:30 – 8:00pm

MATURATION for 5th Grade Only: The PTA originally had Brad Wilcox scheduled to come for the 5th grade maturation program on May 3rd. Mr. Wilcox’s schedule changed, and he asked if the PTA could possibly move the date/day to May 2nd.  Northridge was able to accommodate the change, so please mark your calendars with the following date and time: May 2nd, Tuesday, @ 1:00 in the small/carpeted gym. Parents are most highly encouraged to attend.

The PTA have sent a note home regarding the program. You’re asked to sign the note indicating whether or not you give permission for your child to attend. The program typically lasts about an hour, and yes, the majority of the fifth graders get checked out at the end of the program to go home and “further the conversation” with their parent(s). I hope you will be able to attend with your child.

Art Show:   We have a unique offering of classes at Northridge, and Mrs. deWitt’s class is no exception!  The students have worked hard all year to show you the beautiful creations they have made.  Please come and support the art show on May 10th from 4:30-6:30 in the atrium.

YEARBOOK ORDERS:   Thanks to the Lewis family for always putting together such an amazing yearbook for our students to enjoy!  Because they are produced locally, we always offer a much lower price than typically is available.  Make sure to fill out your form here to get yours if wanted!

NORTHRIDGE DAY OF COLOR:   We are having another fun day planned as our end of year color festival!  More details will be coming this week.  We have been taking a break from our school fundraising this year except for our PTA carnival fundraiser.  We wanted you to know how much we have appreciated all your support in the past and want to honor you through our free event for the whole family!  We will be working in conjunction with Isaac Glenn who is working on his Eagle Scout award to collect items for our teachers for their STEAM lessons as part of the Apollo Project.  It will be a fun day so mark your calendars.
