TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK:It’s that time of year when we get to tell and show our entire staff at Northridge how much we love and appreciate them! We invite you and your students to find ways to show how wonderful we think each staff member is. Attached are a few templates of letters and notes that we know the teachers or support staff would love! Maybe you could have your student fill one out and give it to their teacher or support staff one day. On Tuesday and Thursday we would like to focus on serving and showing our staff our gratitude. Please encourage your students to be on their extra good behavior and look for ways to help in the classroom and around the school. A few ideas are: stay in from recess to help with a job in the classroom, offer to clean something, offer for a custodian or lunch helper to sit down and take a break while they complete a task for them. And of course we invite parents to come in and help show their appreciation as well. Let’s make sure our Super Staff knows and feels the love from all of us!
NIGHTHAWK HUDDLE: On Wednesday evening of this week, we will have our last Nighthawk Huddle of the year. It will be held at 8:00 PM in the Northridge Elementary media center. If you have not been to one of these yet (or even if you have) you should plan on coming! It is a great opportunity to be able to ask the new principal, Mr. Theler, any questions you may have about plans for next year, and hear him talk about his successes in the past. Mr. Woodhouse will also be there to answer any questions you may have about this year. We look forward to seeing you!
MATURATION for 5th Grade Only: The PTA originally had Brad Wilcox scheduled to come for the 5th grade maturation program on May 3rd. Mr. Wilcox’s schedule changed, and he asked if the PTA could possibly move the date/day to May 2nd. Northridge was able to accommodate the change, so please mark your calendars with the following date and time: May 2nd, Tuesday, @ 1:00 in the small/carpeted gym. Parents are most highly encouraged to attend.
The PTA will be sending a note home this week regarding the program. You’re asked to sign the note indicating whether or not you give permission for your child to attend. The program typically lasts about an hour, and yes, the majority of the fifth graders get checked out at the end of the program to go home and “further the conversation” with their parent(s). I hope you will be able to attend with your child.
SCHOOL SPIRIT FRIDAY: Remember, Fridays are always our school spirit day! Please encourage your super student to wear his or her school shirt each and every Friday to show his or her Northridge spirit and school unity! Any past or present school shirt counts as does wearing blue or white. Show your school pride this and EVERY Friday!
